The Kentucky State University (KYSU) is a public institution which was founded in the year 1886. Even though it began as a State School for Colored Persons, over the years it has expanded its mission to offer education to a diverse population of students. The university follows a semester-based calendar ad belongs to the Tier 2 in State University’s ranking of Best National Liberal Arts Colleges in its 2016 edition. In the year 2014-15, 2025 undergraduates and 134 graduates enrolled for more than 50 undergraduate and 6 post-graduate programs offered by the university.
