The St Cloud State University in Minnesota, a public university, was founded in the year 1869. It offers graduate and undergraduate study programs to more than 15,500 students. The university offers courses in 200 undergraduate, 60 graduate and pre-professional programs in its colleges. In the arena of undergraduate programs, it specialises in new courses of studies like, land surveying and mapping sciences, nursing , accounting, and meteorology.
The university is the only one in Minnesota, which offers an Accreditation Board of Engineering Technology (ABET) accredited manufacturing engineering courses, which include electrical, mechanical engineering and computer sciences. The university also has 32-education abroad programs in six continents, where mostly students study at Alnwick Castle in north England for a year-round course. The university is recognised with two major awards, namely the Simon Award in 2013 for its excellent integrated international education and the 2014 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award for creating diverse environments on campus.
