Hood College is a private college in Frederick, Maryland. In the spring of 2018, Hood registered a total of 2052 students out of which 1092 were undergraduate students and 38% of students were either members of underrepresented racial or ethnic populations or from foreign countries. It was established in1893 by the Potomac Synod of the reformed church in the United States as the women's college of Frederick and was a female college until 1971. In 2003, they also gave admission to male with the extended option of residential status.
