Seattle University was established in the year 1891. It is a Jesuit Catholic university. When the University was formed, initially it did not provide bachelor's or master’s degree. After eleven years the University gave the first bachelor’s degree. It was titled Seattle College in the year 1898. It was in the year 1948 that Seattle College was renamed as Seattle University.
Today, Seattle University being the biggest independent University, has more than 7500 students enrolled in a variety of courses. Further, the US news and World Report has ranked the Seattle University sixth for all the courses of undergraduate, postgraduate and few doctorate programs.
The legal writing program of the Seattle University law school has been ranked at no.1 consistently for many years. According to US News the Albers School of business and economics is ranked at no.11 for finance and no.13 for accounts. The science and engineering college of Seattle University is ranked at no. 33 all over the USA.
