Eastern Michigan University was established in 1849. The university is a research-intensive institute located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In 1899 EMU became the first normal school in the United States to offer four-year courses. In addition, the university offers more than 200 courses at the undergraduate level and more than 170 courses at the graduate level.
