Founded in the year 1908 as New Jersey State Normal School, Montclair State University is one of the best public universities in the New Jersey region of the United States. It has been the first ever New Jersey state college to come up with courses for Master’s degree. This university also holds the record to start the first doctoral program in the New Jersey state. Later on, they also came up with several doctoral programs, which were the first ones in that area. The U.S. News & World Report has ranked it 7th in the “Top Public Schools” list in the Northern region.
Presently, Montclair State University offers more than 175 undergraduate courses, 134 graduate programs, and more than a hundred certificate courses. There are seven institutes and twenty-eight independent research centers.
