California Lutheran University is a private liberal arts university established in 1959. It is located in Thousand Oaks, California, United States. California Lutheran University is accredited with the certifications of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

California Lutheran University scholarships are of three types. The students can avail of the merit-based scholarship determined by their scholastic academic performance, the need-based grants available for students in financial need assistance, and additional scholarships for superior talents in the visual and performing arts.
California Lutheran University has numerous community partners including Ventura County Probation Agency, Fredrickson Family Early Learning Childhood Centre, Coalition for Family Harmony, Interface for Family Services, Prototypes in Oxnard, Zoe International (a global anti-child-trafficking organisation), and Ventura County Rescue Mission to inculcate the values of service projects, develop relationships and improve academic learning.
