Florida Atlantic University (FAU) was established in 1961 as the first public university in Miami. FAU serves the students through 10 colleges that offer over 170 programs in significant areas of study. Since Florida Atlantic University was first designated in 1989 as the lead state university serving Broward County, the university’s campuses have grown dramatically in both size and population.
FAU is placing special attention on the rapid development of key areas that form the basis of its strategic plan. It involves biotech, coastal and marine issues, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, informatics, lifespan, and the most important environment. These fields of study offer opportunities for faculty and students to enhance FAU’s existing strengths in research.
