Virginia Commonwealth University, established in 1838, is a public research university in Richmond, Virginia. It is affiliated with ORAU, SURA, CUMU, Urban 13/GCU, and Sea-grant. It is one of the oldest institutes in the city and home to the first organ transplant center in the state. The Virginia Commonwealth University is expanding its course offerings to over 200, and it is doing so in a very professional manner. Through its 20 schools, the university grants bachelor's, master's, professional, doctoral, and a few certificate programs in addition to these degrees. The four-year Presidential Scholarship covers room and board in addition to tuition and fees up to USD 16,000(INR 12,00,000) per year (a maximum of USD 8,000 per semester). Board is equivalent to the 250 Block plus USD 175(INR 11000) Dining Dollars meal plan, and room allowance is equal to the price of a room in the Honors College residence hall.
